Finding answers to the deepest questions in life is not easy. That is what J struggles with in the series Ask J, a show about a young man that starts to work for the Internet as a random answer generator app.

DR. BOB RICE
Executive producer and Professor of Catechetics at FUS
'He realizes that the questions, such as those, are bigger, and require more than just a quick typing in Google to get an answer. We have to go and search for those answers ourselves.

The show is part of a program at Franciscan University of Steubenville called Steubenville Fuel. All the different projects involved in it aim to share the Catholic faith, but not in the way it is usually done.

'We realized that in a lot of Catholic, as well as Christian media, there is a lot of direct teaching, direct explanations, homilies, preachers, other things like that, but there aren't a lot of parables; there aren't a lot of narratives. We wanted to do something that might reach youth and young adults, and they often are in a world that is saturated by narrative, even every commercial they watch tells some sort of story.

The series was entirely funded by Franciscan University and was shot in Hollywood, with the help of professional directors and screenwriters.

'Sadly, many times, Christian and Catholic media might not be the highest quality, and yet we're trying to evangelize an audience which are very discerning in their media tastes. They're used to seeing professional, well lit, well sounding media all the time.

Bob Rice's team at Franciscan University is already working in a new webseries called 'What would Roger do? that will see the light next year.
