The Vatican is hosting an international regenerative medicine conference. The three-day event is moderated by renowned journalists and televised on a worldwide scale. The theme for this year's event is 'Cellular Breakthroughs in Cancer, Diabetes and Autoimmune Diseases.

JOSEPH BIDEN
Vice-President (USA)
'As we stand on the cusp of unprecedented scientific and technological change of amazing discoveries that were once unimaginable breakthroughs, we cannot forget that real lives and real people are at the heart and the reason for all that we do.

This unique conference brings together the world's brightest minds in the fields of  science, physics, philanthropy, and of course, religious and political leaders alike.

The Vice-President of the United States, Joseph Biden was a guest speaker at this event. He called for an international commitment by focusing on prevention, access, and affordability for people all around the world.

JOSEPH BIDEN
Vice-President (USA)
'Cancer is a constant emergency.

Unfortunately, Cancer is something that Vice-President Biden is very familiar with. He lost his oldest son, 'Beau' Biden III to brain cancer in May of  2015.

The Pope intervened just after Joe Biden, allowing for a brief greeting, perhaps remembering his trip to Washington last year.
