The Swiss Cardinal Georges Marie Cottier died on Thursday night at a hospital in Rome. He was 93-years-old.
This philosopher and theologian of great prestige was of the order of the Dominicans and participated as an expert in the Second Vatican Council.
John Paul II appointed him as a theologian of the Papal Household in 1990. He was responsible for reviewing and monitoring the theological unity of the texts and speeches that the Pope had to sign.
John Paul II made him a cardinal in 2003.
