Bombings and attacks in the Gaza Strip continue. But this has not kept these eight children from receiving the Sacrament of First Holy Communion.

They celebrated it on the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, surrounded by their families and dressed in traditional white clothes.

The sacrament was performed in the only Catholic parish in Gaza. There, 30 children sent a message to Pope Francis amid explosions, which had also happened during this Mass.

The images were shared by the official website of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, which also stressed that the conflict has not prevented the sacraments from being administered.

The Cardinal Patriarch, Pier Luigi Pizzaballa, has repeatedly highlighted the strength and unwavering faith of the Christians in Gaza, particularly in the wake of the conflict, which has been going on for more than three months.
