At the Apostolic Palace, Pope Francis met with delegates of the Catholic University of Murcia, Spain. In 2021, the founder of the university, José Luis Mendoza, organized this meeting to celebrate its 25th anniversary. A year after his death, the committee fulfilled his wishes to visit the Vatican.

POPE FRANCIS
Mr. José Luis left a legacy of mission and evangelization through a profoundly existential university, born from the heart of the Church and driven by the power of God's love.

The Pope reminded the delegates of the missionary spirit that motivated the creation of this university.

POPE FRANCIS
This is my wish for all of you today: that you continue to work from the heart of the Church to bring Jesus Christ to every person who comes to your classrooms and to your lives, to form people capable of welcoming God and witnessing to Him in any environment.

At the end of the meeting, Pope Francis thanked the delegates for their work with the youth and gave them his blessing.
