As part of the initiatives of St. Peter's Basilica for the month of October, hundreds of pilgrims flock to the Square to partake in the candlelight rosary procession each Saturday at 9pm.
The third prayer service opened with a Marian hymn as a group carried an image of Our Lady.
The rosary was led by Italian Cardinal Giuseppe Bertello, who asked the pilgrims to offer the prayer for a particular intention.
I invite you all this evening to pray in a special way for peace in the Middle East, in Ukraine, and throughout the world.
The rosary was prayed in various languages including French, English and Spanish. It is one way St. Peter's Basilica is inviting all the faithful to come together and pray for the ongoing Synod on Synodality.
