Each year, hundreds of thousands of people visit a room known as the Cenacle—which is believed to be where the Last Supper took place. Even Pope Francis and Pope John Paul II have visited and celebrated Mass at the holy site.

POPE FRANCIS
Here the Church was born and it was born to go forth.

A 3D version of the Cenacle was created to help conservators, archaeologists and art historians uncover the many unknown aspects of this building that holds great historical and religious importance. This project allows everyone involved the opportunity to explore the past.

I wanted to be a part of this process of unfolding hidden stories.
It is part of what the research of heritage is all about—to give meaning in the present to things of the past.

But this 3D version of the room is not just for historians. It also brings the Holy Land to people around the world.

Not necessarily only explorers, also people who can not visit Jerusalem, who cannot travel to Jerusalem, they can visit the place from their home.

The team of historians plans to develop an even more sophisticated 3D edition in the future that could continue to reveal advanced discoveries from the time of Jesus.
