After concluding his busy morning of official events and private meetings and hours before the Stations of the Cross, Pope Francis practiced something that has become a tradition at every WYD—sharing lunch with young people.

He met with a group of six girls and four boys, between 24 and 34 years old, at the Apostolic Nunciature. They came from different countries, including Portugal, Brazil, the Philippines and Palestine.

On the table, there were plates of bread, fried potatoes and ravioli with tomato. Together with the Pope and the young people, the Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon and the city's auxiliary bishop, Amèrico Aguiar, were also present. They discussed topics such as euthanasia, abortion and the care of grandparents.

The young people gave Pope Francis some presents, including letters, typical items from their countries and a T-shirt signed by everyone working on the organization of WYD.

There is a very important saying: 'Visitors should always be escorted to the door.'

The meal ended with the group getting their picture taken with Pope Francis.
