The Holy Spirit remembers the teachings of Jesus in order to apply them in different areas of life. Pope Francis said this before praying the Regina Coeli on Sunday in Saint Peter's Square. And he gave this advice to Catholics:
POPE FRANCIS
'For example, when you read every day - as I advised you - a passage from the Gospel, ask the Holy Spirit: 'help me to understand and to remember these words of Jesus.' And then read the passage, every day ... But before that prayer to the Holy Spirit, which is in our hearts, say: 'Help me to remember and to understand.'â?
It was May 1st, International Labor Day, and the Pope asked again to promote model development practices that take into account human dignity and the respect for labor and the environment.
But the strongest message had to do with child abuse, since the association, 'Meter Onlus' was present in the square to commemorate child victim awareness day.
POPE FRANCIS
'This is a tragedy. We must not tolerate child abuse. We must defend the children and we must punish the abusers. Thank you for your commitment and for forcefully continuing this work.â?
Pope Francis referred to the war in Syria again, this time, to respect the truce, and to reinforce that dialogue is the only way to achieve peace.
Furthermore, he did not neglect to congratulate the Orthodox Church on their May 1st Easter celebration. He also greeted the pilgrims, many of which were Polish. The square was illuminated by the white and red colors of their flag.
