One would think that crowds outside of St. Peter's Square were screaming for their favorite musician or a famous movie star. Instead, they are cheering for a different type of celebrity.
The Francis effect was present when he met with Indian child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his campaign for the rights of children and young people in 2014.
Satyarthi founded Save the Childhood Movement in 1980 and has acted to protect the rights of more than 83,000 children from 144 countries.
Satyarthi and Pope Francis shared a brief conversation outside of St. Peter's Square. The conversation was lost in translation, as the crowds volume grew in intensity.
One thing is clear, both leaders share the concerns of world's deprived, especially children.
