Pope Francis met with bishops from Slovakia during their 'ad limina visit to Rome. It was a joyful meeting, with plenty of smiles to go around while they greeted each other.

But in a letter given to the bishops, the Pope discusses much more serious issues. He describes migration as a phenomenon 'which demands to be understood and confronted with sensitivity and a sense of justice.

He calls on the Church to proclaim and bear witness and reflect a spirit of charity, while observing the law.

While the Slovak people should maintain their cultural identity, Pope Francis encourages them to approach migration with 'mutual respect.

The bishops also presented the Pope with a painting that included several portraits of religious.

After posing for a photo with the image, they prayed together.

The group laughed and joked with the Pope as he handed them small gifts. And like that, the high point of their 'ad limina visit came to a close.
