Just five months after his pastoral visit to Sarajevo, Pope Francis has met with the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia Herzegovina at the Vatican.
The Pope warmly greeted Chairman Dragan Ä?oviÄ?, who was accompanied by Cardinal Vinko Puljic. The visibly excited archbishop thanked the Pope for his visit to the country.
In remarks to the entire delegation of Bosnia Herzegovina, Pope Francis stressed the importance of dialogue.
POPE FRANCIS
'As I said to the President, I still keep in my heart so many great and beautiful things that I learned from you: the capacity to suffer, having suffered so much, the ability to forgive, or at least to seek forgiveness, the ability to unite and work together, the capacity for dialogue. Thank you so much for these examples that you give to humanity.â?
The two also exchanged gifts. Covic gave Pope Francis a collection of photographs, as well as postal stamps with an image of the Pope's face imprinted on them. In turn, Pope Francis gave Covic a medallion representing peace and a copy of his encyclical.
