Starting on November 2014, the Catholic Church will celebrate the Year for Consecrated Life to remember the mission and presence of more than 700,000 religious members in the world. Many of them are already living it with excitement.

'We plan to study our charism a little more, study our foundress, study the documents of the Church... It's a wonderful gift of the Church to us and we're very grateful.

'For me, it's a blessing and an answer from the Church and the Lord to all youth and all men.

This special year for religious will begin on November 30th with a Mass in St. Peter's Basilica.  On the eve of the Mass, religious from around the world will unite in a prayer vigil at the Basilica of St. Mary Major.

'Our hopes are, my hopes are, that we'll live our life better and we'll appreciate the gift that it is. And of course that it will attract more  people, more men and women, to the religious lifeâ?.

'The true superhero is not Superman nor Batman. The true superhero is the person who leaves everything for Christ. That is a superhero.

Among the events this year is a prayer chain of monastersies from around the world and various international meetings in Rome.

This year specially dedicated to religious will conclude on February 2, 2016. On that day, the Pope will preside over a Mass on the occasion of the World Day of Consecrated Life.
