The pope celebrates the anniversary of the Neocatechumenal Way's 50 years in Rome.
Pope Francis will send 34 new “missio ad gentes,” out to the world. They are groups of families, led by a priest, who will evangelize in areas where the Church is not as present.
They must start new lives in other countries. The Holy Father sends them off with encouraging words.
The encounter is Saturday at 11 a.m. at Tor Vergata, where World Youth Day 2000 took place.
