After Evo Morales resigned from the Bolivian presidency, the country's Episcopal Conference offered to collaborate to resolve the political crisis and help call elections to choose a new president.
JOSÉ FUENTES CANO
Bishop's Conference of Bolivia
“What's happening in Bolivia is not a coup. We say this in front of all Bolivian citizens and the international community. We ask Bolivians for peace and to not commit any acts of vandalism or revenge or anything we would regret. We all have a serious responsibility to defend the life of all Bolivians.”
The Bolivian bishops asked the military to defend citizens and their property. They ask to put a stop to violence and to maintain a spirit of peace in the country.
