In the 16th century, St. Ignatius of Loyola began recommending the practice of examining one's conscience. With him, Christians observed the state of their soul and prepared for the sacrament of confession. Today, new technology helps accomplish this. For example, there is the “Reconciliation” app.

“The idea for the application came from my brother. Both of us went on a spiritual retreat where for the first time we did an examination of conscience. Then he tried doing another examination, but found it impractical to have to transcribe the entire answer. That's when he suggested I make an application making the process easier and more accessible to different people.”
It's very easy to use. The user must answer a series of simple questions, each related to one of the 10 commandments. Once the questionnaire is complete, the user can see the results. The app can also be used for personal prayer and reflection. Its main purpose is to help the user make a good confession.

The app is available on Google Play and the Apple Store, in English and Spanish. Its developers are currently working on a Portuguese version.
