The pandemic has once again affected Pope's Holy Week ceremonies, which is why Palm Sunday this year will be very similar to that of 2020.
The Vatican has confirmed that Mass will be celebrated in St. Peter's Basilica, in a secondary chapel known as the Altar of the Chair of Peter. A maximum of 200 people will be allowed to attend.
Holy Week last year took place in the middle of the first coronavirus wave. The celebration was more simple than usual. But given the global situation, it was quite emotional.
POPE FRANCIS
Look at the real heroes, who come to light these days. They are not those who have fame, money and success, but those who give themselves to serve others. Feel the call to put your life into play. Do not be afraid to spend it for God and for others.
It will be the first time that World Youth Day at the diocesan level is not celebrated on Palm Sunday. The pope has decided to move it to November, to the Feast of Christ the King.
