Among those invited to the Pope's General Audience was this Holocaust survivor, who wore a stripped scarf to symbolize the uniform she wore as a prisoner in the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp.
Lidia Maksymowicz lifted her sleeve to show the Pope the tattoo of her prison number which she received in Auschwitz.
Pope Francis kissed the tattoo as a sign of respect.
Before saying goodbye, she gave the Pope the scarf which she was wearing.
