This is the choir of the Tajamar School in Madrid, Spain. The group recently released a Christmas carol called “En los brazos de un carpintero” (“In the arms of a carpenter').

The song was recorded with a group of children with disabilities from the Cambrils special education school.

Álvaro Torres composed the melody. With it, he wants to communicate a message of inclusion and equity.

“For parents from the Cambrils school, seeing this reality, this inclusion in their kids, has been very gratifying and beautiful. I think the greatest satisfaction Raúl and I can get this year is knowing that we made the children and their families happy.”

Raúl Larrocha directs the choir. He says this carol teaches children the original meaning of Christmas.

“What we've seen so far is that we've managed to teach the kids the meaning of carols. Why do we sing carols? To adore the Infant Jesus, to remember this very important event. And it's great to see how the children know it by heart and sing it at home. And that's our goal with this project: that all the children sing carols with their family.”

“In the arms of a carpenter” is an original carol with which Álvaro Torres and Raúl Larrocha hope to help children live this Christmas in a more meaningful way.
