After landing in South Sudan, the Apostolic Nuncio, Chief of Protocol, Archbishop of Cantebury, and Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland all greet Pope Francis on the plane.
At the foot of the place, the Pope is welcomed by the President of the Republic, Salva Kiir Mayardit, and two children with flowers.
Together, Pope Francis and President Kiir Mayardit move to the VIP Lounge at Giuba International Airport to greet the delegations and have a brief meeting. From there, the two head to the Presidential Palace.
