The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church has issued a harsh statement against Russia following the devastating attack that left more than thirty dead in the city of Sumy. Major Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk said that Russia has once again revealed its true face by committing this crime against humanity.
The two missiles struck a busy street in the Ukrainian city that was in the midst of Palm Sunday celebrations.
The UN, for its part, also issued a statement condemning the attacks on civilians and reminding all that such actions are prohibited under international humanitarian law.
Meanwhile, Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs claims that they have evidence of military personnel being present in Sumy.
