This is one of the few documents signed by the Pope that can be seen. He still isn't able to write well, but it seems what matters to the Pope is his message reaches his audience.

The Pope's message is a greeting sent to the hundreds of students participating in a university gathering in Rome promoted by Opus Dei, known as the UNIV Congress.

This gathering takes place every Holy Week in Rome, and it is customary for the Pope to send its participants a message at the end of his general audience on the Wednesday before Easter.

POPE FRANCIS
I cordially greet the Spanish-speaking pilgrims, especially the participants in the UNIV 2024 meeting.

These congresses began in the late 1960s, inspired by the works of Saint Josemaría Escrivá.

Since then, hundreds of students travel to Rome every year to reflect on current issues and deepen their faith, alongside the Catholics who wish to spend Holy Week close to the Pope.

There was a time when Pope Saint John Paul II granted them several audiences with some of moments leaving a lasting impression, like this one: the Pope laughing. An unconventional image, and one that very few have seen in person.
