The Vatican confirmed that, after two and a half weeks back in the Vatican, Pope Francis has received a visit again from the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin. He is the only member of the Curia who is currently visiting him to discuss work-related matters.
During Pope Francis's convalescence at the Gemelli Hospital, the Cardinal had already met with the Pope on two other occasions there.
The Vatican has also indicated that the Pope is experiencing a slight improvement in his mobility and breathing.
This is what the Pope said on Sunday after leaving the hospital…
Thank you all. And I see this lady with the yellow flowers. She's good.
And then, two weeks later…
Happy Sunday to all. Thank you very much.
However, regarding the Pope's presence at the Holy Week celebrations, the Holy See indicates that it remains to be seen, although appearances like the one he made after Sunday Mass for the Jubilee of the Sick are not ruled out.
Dr. Sergio Alfieri, who cared for him at the Gemelli Hospital, told Italian media that Pope Francis's body has strengthened a little more. He said there is less danger of contagion, so it is not as necessary for him to be isolated as much.
