The incorrupt body of Saint Teresa of Jesus will be displayed to the public for the first time in 111 years.
In August, after more than a century of closure, her tomb was reopened, requiring 10 keys. This act was part of a study of the relics, which the public will now be able to see.

The silver urn containing the Saint's body will be opened to pilgrims and visitors. In this way, all who come to Alba de Tormes, following in the footsteps of Saint Teresa of Jesus, will have the opportunity to approach Jesus Christ and His Church, following the path of this great saint, who is a heritage of humanity and enriches us all.
It will be something unprecedented that can be witnessed from May 11 to 25 at the place where the Saint, founder of the Discalced Carmelite Order and canonized in 1622, died.

Anyone who approaches Saint Teresa of Jesus does not remain indifferent. Their innermost being is transformed by the protection, by the example, by the living and everlasting witness of this great saint, Doctor of the Church, Saint Teresa of Jesus.
This will be a historic event, as it has only occurred three times: in 1582, after the Saint's death; in 1760; and, for the last time, in 1914.
