This is the image that is usually seen at the beginning of Lent… Cardinals residing in Rome and high officials of the Curia gather to listen to the meditations given by the preacher of the Pontifical Household, currently, Roberto Pasolini.
P. ROBERTO PASOLINI
Preacher of the Pontifical Household
Today we are going to dwell a little more on the subject of death, the last day when we try to get to the bottom of this most delicate aspect of our life in this world.
This message will no longer be heard in person, only by the most famous faces of the Vatican. The faithful will also be able to attend these exercises on the four Fridays prior to the beginning of Holy Week.
They will begin on March 21, so anyone who is in Rome will be able to enter the Paul VI Hall at 9:00 am. Attendees will not need an admission ticket.
The theme chosen by Pasolini for his sermons to the faithful is 'Anchored in Christ'. For the preaching of the spiritual exercises to the curia, the Capuchin chose 'Eternal Life'.
Even the pope participated from the Gemelli hospital in a discreet manner. He was not seen and could not be interacted with, but the Vatican assured that he was following them attentively.
The last time the pope was seen in this type of spiritual exercises was during Advent; they were also Pasolini's first meditations as preacher of the Papal Household.

Holy Father, brothers and sisters all. May the Lord give you peace. And may he give it to me too who, with this meditation, try to take up again the long and precious legacy of Father Raniero Cantalamessa.
Almost as a rule, every Friday of Advent and Lent, curia leaders and officials attend these sermons, a tradition in which the faithful can now also participate.
