Over the weekend Pope Francis' health improved slightly. After entering the hospital on Friday, doctors reported that he no longer has a fever.
The Vatican sent optimistic messages. They said that Pope Francis is resting, praying, reading the press and is, more or less, strictly following the absolute rest that the doctors are forcing him to take.
In fact, he did not participate in the Jubilee Mass for artists. The prefect of the dicastery for culture and education read the mass in his name.

What the pope did not seem to have given up were the calls to the Catholic parish in Gaza. He called them on Friday and Saturday, but not on Sunday, when the doctors asked him to respect the absolute rest prescribed for him.
