The Pope continues with a busy schedule in this Jubilee year. He celebrated the extraordinary public catechesis and met with a group of 250 young Ukrainians who, because of the war, are scattered all over the world.

Pope Francis asked them to be “patriotic”, and even more so now, when their country is “wounded by war”. But, at the same time, he pointed out that this feeling must be compatible with the ability to forgive for the offenses received.

That day, the Pope had an intense agenda. In the morning, he preached a public catechesis to thousands of pilgrims.

POPE FRANCIS
Instead of looking into the darkness of the past, into the emptiness of a tomb, from Mary Magdalene we learn to turn toward life. There our Master awaits us. There our name is spoken. For in real life there is a place for us, always and everywhere.

Pope Francis asked the pilgrims if they recognized the voice of Jesus, recalling that each person has a place and a purpose in life.

POPE FRANCIS
It's bad, as they say in vulgar speech, it's bad to leave the chair empty. This place is for me, if I don't go… Everyone can say: I have a place. I have… no. I am a mission! Think about this: what is my place? What is the mission that the Lord gives me? May this thought help us to take a courageous attitude in life.

On the same day, he also presided at Vespers for the Day of Consecrated Life, reflecting with the religious on the three vows: poverty, obedience and chastity.
