Despite the long cold that has weakened him, the Pope continued with his nine public and official meetings in one day.
He met with journalists from all over the world to welcome the Jubilee, although he was not able to read the entire speech. However, this did not prevent him from going to the Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls in the afternoon to close the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
Among the most notable meetings that day was also the one he had with the president of Panama, whose Canal Donald Trump is demanding. The Panamanian leader said the Pope supports him against the US president's claims, although the Vatican offered no comment on this matter.
The president also met with the president of Italy to ask him to intercede for Panama with the European Union to get it off the blacklist of countries whose banking structure is not transparent.
