The Nicaraguan dictatorship has confiscated the major seminary of the Diocese of Matagalpa, the most punished by the Ortega regime and of which Rolando Álvarez is bishop, exiled to Rome at the beginning of 2024.
The information was released on his social networks by Erick Díaz, an exiled priest who said that in a few days both the seminary and a spiritual retreat center have been confiscated.
It was the police who arrived at the facilities and threw out the 30 seminarians. It is also unknown if any of them, or even any priest, has been arrested.
In addition, the lawyer Martha Patricia has condemned the surveillance of priests in the diocese that has been increasing.
