During one of his meetings at the Vatican, the Pope spoke again about the situation of women nuns in the Catholic Church. He spoke to the Hilton Foundation, which helps people in need around the world.

There, the Pope said that little is invested in women nuns compared to priests. He pointed out that the underlying reason could be that…

“There is a belief that women nuns, and also women, are second class”

He also highlighted the great contribution that women nuns are making to the Curia. For this reason, he asked religious congregations to let their nuns go if the diocese or the Roman Curia asks them to go to work there to help with the needs of the local or universal Church.
