The Vatican has said goodbye to one of its most experienced cardinals of the Curia: Angelo Amato, who died at the age of 86.

This certainty, of being with the risen Christ, has illuminated the earthly path of Cardinal Angelo Amato.

The Pope, as he usually does in these cases, appears at the end to say his last goodbye to the Cardinal who was one of his collaborators for almost half of his pontificate.

The Salesian cardinal was the Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith for many years. In 2008, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, where he remained until 2018, when he was replaced by Angelo Becciu.

During that period, he was involved in some of the canonization processes that were of great interest to the faithful. One example was those of the Fatima shepherds, Jacinta and Francisco Marto.

Blessed Francisco and Jacinta Marto are the little visionaries of Fatima. Their extraordinary experience took place 100 years ago.

In fact, in 2017, Pope Francis canonized them in Portugal.
