The Pope's Christmas message was very clear and forceful.
POPE FRANCIS
On this Christmas, the beginning of the Jubilee year, I invite every person, every people, and every nation to have the courage to cross the Holy Door, to become pilgrims of hope, to silence the weapons - to silence the weapons and overcome divisions.
May the Jubilee be an opportunity to forgive debts, especially those that affect the poorest countries.
The Pope made a great call for world peace, from Ukraine to the Holy Land to Myanmar. He also strongly called for social harmony in countries such as Nicaragua and Venezuela. He also called for an end to the terrorism that is ravaging African countries in the Sahel.
However, the fundamental heart of the Pope’s Christmas message was spiritual.
POPE FRANCIS
Sisters, brothers, the door of God's heart is always open. Let us return to Him. Let us return to the heart that loves us and forgives us. Let us allow ourselves to be forgiven by Him, let us allow ourselves to be reconciled with Him. God always forgives. God forgives everything. Let us allow ourselves to be forgiven by Him. This is what the Holy Door of the Jubilee means, which I opened here yesterday evening in Saint Peter's.
From the Vatican, the Pope encouraged people to do a deep examination of conscience and to have the courage to change their mindset and ask for forgiveness.
