These are the first cars to cross the long-awaited tunnel in Piazza Pia after more than a year of work. The aim was to make the whole area more pedestrian-friendly by diverting traffic to the underground gallery that has been extended.

From now on, 150,000 people will be able to stay in this square. It will facilitate the flow of pilgrims on important occasions such as the deaths of popes or canonizations.

In total, the Italian authorities have invested around 5 billion euros in Rome. It is expected that the income generated by the Jubilee will exceed this investment.

Of course, from next year, the capital will welcome millions of people from all over the world. This also represents a great opportunity for growth for our production system, but in the end this is not the essence of the Jubilee, which is nevertheless very important. Because the holy year is, first of all, an event of faith that allows us to come to terms with ourselves a little.

Over the last few days, work has been accelerated to the maximum to get everything ready. The restoration of the Trevi Fountain has been completed, as well as other key works such as repairing the street at the metro stop closest to the Vatican.
