The oldest surviving representation of the 10 Commandments is now up for auction. It is about 1,500 years old and contains what God said to Moses on Mount Sinai, written in paleo-Hebrew.

The tablet is made of marble and weighs about 114 pounds. It was found in 1913 during an excavation in southern Israel. The auction is being conducted by Sotheby's and will take place in New York on December 18.

Although it is uncertain how much money will be bid on the tablet, it is estimated that the final price will reach millions of dollars.

A similar item has already been auctioned at the same auction house. This was the case with this Bible written by a Spanish rabbi in 1312.

It was one of the most important Hebrew manuscripts to have survived from medieval Spain. It was bought by the Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv for almost 7 million dollars.
