Mercedes-Benz has been in charge of manufacturing the new popemobile delivered today by hand to the Pope.
Pope Francis has just received his new popemobile. He has received it from Mercedes-Benz, who have manufactured this electric car that, they say, is tailor-made for the Pope:

What’s special about this next-generation popemobile is that it is all electric, but combined with hundreds of hours of craftsmanship and passion down to the last detail: of course, the chair for His Holiness; but down to just little platforms that the Swiss Guard can stand on behind; the crest of the Pope obviously; and craftsmanship and perfection in every detail.
It is a unique model that has been made especially for the Pope. In addition, its seat can be heated on cold days, as well as the side bars where he rests his hands.
Pope Francis usually drives around St. Peter's Square every Wednesday in his popemobile. From now on, the public will be able to see the Pope in this new G580 electric SUV whose keys have been placed in his hands.
