Viktor Orban went to Rome as part of a tour of bilateral meetings that he has been conducting since he has held the rotating presidency of the European Union, a role that will come to an end after this year.

In exchange, Pope Francis gave him all the documents of his pontificate, including the declaration on universal human fraternity of Abu Dhabi. He also gave his message for Peace.
After the meeting, on social networks, Viktor Orban said that one should take advantage of the opportunities that exist to achieve peace. The Vatican noted that among the issues discussed were the situation in Ukraine, the "central role of the family" and "the protection of the new generations."
