It has been almost six months of work but it is expected to have been worth it. Michelangelo's Pietà is back in view and, at the same time, better protected.
Before the arrival of the Jubilee, it was decided to improve the sculpture's security. The panel separating it from the public was replaced by another panel of nine sheets of bulletproof glass.
The protection of this jewel of the Vatican is very important and in the past there have already been some scares, such as when a man damaged it with a hammer in 1972.
