The Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris is preparing for its long-awaited reopening five years after the devastating fire of 2019. On December 7, President Emmanuel Macron will attend the reopening mass. During this event, the cathedral will be considered officially open to the public.
During these 5 years of restoration, the Cathedral has been gradually improving. This is the moment in which the central spire, already restored, is placed again on the top with a golden rooster that carries inside a paper with all the names of the people who have collaborated in its arrangement.
From its inauguration, during the first week of opening, Notre Dame will open its doors until 10 p.m. allowing visitors to admire the restoration.
It will not be until December 16 when it will resume its normal activity. According to the authorities, 15 million people are expected to visit this Parisian monument every year.
With the reopening of Notre-Dame, Paris recovers one of its greatest cultural and religious symbols.
