(ONLY VIDEO) Ukraine, the Middle East and the fight against hunger are three of the central themes of the G20 in Rio de Janeiro. The Vatican sent its Secretary of State as a representative.

Cardinal Pietro Parolin delivered an address on behalf of the Pope in which he stated that a “long-term vision and strategy are necessary to effectively combat malnutrition.” He also stated that interventions and projects should be planned and implemented in response to the needs of the people and their communities.
