December 7 will be a busy day at the Vatican. First, the pope will appoint new cardinals. Second, the tree and the nativity scene in the square will be inaugarated. Finally, there will be the annual concert for the poor of Rome at Paul VI Hall. It will be the fifth annual concert, and this time, there will be a special guest: the Oscar-winning Hans Zimmer, the composer of some of the best-known soundtracks in the history of cinema.
The concert will begin at 5:30 p.m., and up to 3,000 impoverished people are expected to attend. The Vatican says they will be the guests of honor. Also, among them will be refugees who have been helped by humanitarian organizations such as the Community of Saint Egidio, the Order of Malta, the Circle of St. Peter, and the Astalli Center. At the end of the concert, the Vatican will provide dinner for all guests.
