The Vatican has inaugurated a new pilgrim center which will serve as an information stop for those visiting St. Peter's basilica. The cardinal archpriest of St. Peter's is clear about the purpose of this space for those who visit it.

Archpriest of St. Peter's Basilica

“We want to ensure that when they return home, they can remember this visit, throughout their lives, as a moment that has enriched their lives, has marked them and, in one way or another, has directed them towards beauty, goodness and truth.”

This space already features books, guides and videos on the great artists who have worked in the Basilica.

“We have products linked to spirituality, to the history of people and to art. Because inside the Basilica there is an ensemble of art, culture and spirituality.”

Those who manage this space also have the function of welcoming and serving visitors.

Director of Communications St. Peter's Basilica

“One of the simplest questions people have when visiting St. Peter's is when does it open, what time does it close, can we visit it? The celebrations, what time do they start? And these are the simplest questions. We have more complex ones, such as where can we sleep? Or I don't have the money to travel to Rome, can you help me? Okay, we'll take care of that too”.

The pilgrim center will be open beyond the Jubilee Year, as tourists will continue to visit St. Peter's Basilica and seek information about it.
