They are the most elite of chefs. Remember their faces because their daily diners will surprise you: Emmanuel Macron, the Biden family, kings like William and Maxima of the Netherlands, Prince Albert of Monaco and the Spanish president, Pedro Sánchez.
They are known as the 'gastronomic G-20'. But these chefs have left their palace aprons for a moment to sweeten some other exquisite palates.
They are those of the children admitted to the Pope's hospital, the Bambino Gesù. These chefs brought them cookies, which were made in the kitchens of the Quirinal Palace, the residence of the Italian president, Sergio Mattarella.
But the cooks didn't leave empty-handed either.
I had a dream. A bunch of cooks in the hospital feeding us pizzas, sweets and “leccornie” that make the sickness go away and every cook, like the doctor, gives us back our good mood.
They are probably not aware of it, but not everyone is lucky enough to share a private chef with some of the world's most important leaders.
