In Rome, Pope Francis met once again with representatives of the Popular Movements, that bring together groups of workers who face harsh conditions.
To them, the Pope launched an appeal against those who promote behaviors that can lead to serious addictions such as gambling.
POPE FRANCIS
It makes me sad to see soccer games and sports stars promoting gambling platforms. That's not gambling. It is an addiction. It's putting your hand in the pocket of the people, especially the workers and the poor.
The Pope encouraged these movements not to give up the fight against inequality and corruption.
The reason for this meeting was to celebrate the first World Meeting of these movements, held in Rome.
