The Pope arrives at the Istiqlal Mosque and is received by the Grand Imam outside the Mosque. Together they visit the Tunnel of Friendship. Afterwards, they arrive at the big tent where the meeting takes place while a song of welcome is sung. Before the Holy Father's address, the "Joint Declaration of Istiqlal 2024" is read and signed.
At the end of the interreligious meeting, Francis goes to the Henry Soetio Hall, to meet privately with a group of sick, disabled and poor people, assisted by various charitable organizations linked to the Indonesian Bishops' Conference.
