In the Jakarta Cathedral of Indonesia, Pope Francis spoke with bishops, priests and religious and was energetic. His improvisation even caught some off guard.

POPE FRANCIS
He wants to escape.

A catechist in the audience asked a question to the Pope and he called her to his side to praise the importance of her work.

POPE FRANCIS
Faith is transmitted at home. The faith is transmitted in dialect and the catechists together with the mothers and grandmothers who carry this faith forward.

The Pope continued to improvise and surprised his translator.

POPE FRANCIS
Come on, go on, you can translate now.
What made you laugh?

The Pope used his address to insist on the need to unite with one another and live with compassion.

POPE FRANCIS
It means to embrace the dreams and desires of redemption and justice, to take charge, to become promoters and cooperators, involving others, expanding the “network” and boundaries in a great expansive dynamism of charity. And this does not mean to be communist, it means charity, it means love.

In this meeting with the core of the Indonesian Catholic community, Pope Francis showed no sign of fatigue from travel.
