Men in brown filled the Apostolic Palace as Pope Francis met with the Capuchin Friars. The Pope encourgaed them to keep people at the center of their work.
POPE FRANCIS
I invite you to be vigilant so that economic resources, human calculations or other such realities are never put at the center. They are all useful tools, necessary to be concerned about as well, but always as means, never as ends. At the center are people.
The Pope spoke to the friars about the three dimensions of the Franciscan Order: fraternity, availability and commitment to peace.
The Capuchin Friars met with the Pope for their 86th General Assembly. They are a branch of the Franciscan Order and were founded in 1528.
