As the Olympic Games kick off in Paris on July 26, Catholics from all around the world are using this time not only to cheer on their countries but also to pray the rosary.

The free Rosario app launched the “Rosary Olympics”, which uses an athlete's mindset to encourage people to pray. (https://shorturl.at/A9Lc8)

The Rosary Olympics started off because with the Olympic games taking such a big spot in the media, we thought, “How do we put Christ and the Lord into the discussion?”
The idea is that over the course of the days of the Olympics, we become the coaches of how you manage to pray the daily rosary fully.

Over 200,000 people worldwide use the Rosario app. And over the course of the two weeks of the Olympics, users are divided into groups to pray the rosary together for special intentions.

So you start off at the beginning of the Olympics with saying one decade a day with four other people so that you say a rosary together. And then, after three days, you're put into a second group so you're still continuing to say your first decade with these four others, and then you're in a second group with four other people and so you're saying two decades per day and then three and then four and then five. And the idea is that you become a champion of Our Lady.

The rosary group members may be randomized or created with friends. To join the Olympics group, download the app and type in the code “strikethematch” in one word.

With this project, Rosario hopes to serve as a reminder to people to commit themselves fully to prayer.
