On Sunday, World Children's Day finished at the Vatican with this Mass in St. Peter's Square presided over by Pope Francis on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity.
He delivered a very catechetical homily.
POPE FRANCIS
Dear little girls, dear little boys. We are here together to pray, to pray together, to pray to God, do you agree? Do you agree with that? Yes? And we pray to God, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. How many Gods are there? One in three persons.
Pope Francis made the children repeat many different themes: from the mission of the Holy Spirit to the forgiveness of sins.
POPE FRANCIS
Jesus forgives everything and always forgives, and we must have the humility to ask for forgiveness. Forgive me Lord, I have done wrong. I am weak. Life has put me in trouble, but you forgive everything. I would like to change my life and you will help me. But I didn't hear you correctly. Is it true? Does he forgive everything? You are good, don't forget it.
At the end of the Mass, the Pope remained in the Square for one last event. The Oscar-winning actor, Roberto Benigni, prepared a monologue to perform for the little children.
