More than 1,000 confirmation students visited the Vatican on a pilgrimage organized by the Diocese of Genova, Italy.
Pope Francis made a point to greet them outside of his residence.
After his arrival, the Pope became a part of the crowd with a red cap.
And he also had a special request for them.
One question, do you guys know how to sing something? Sing. Let's go!
The Pope also gave the students a rosary and sent greetings to their parents and grandparents.
POPE FRANCIS
You know that grandparents are wise and good people.
After the meeting, the children continued their journey to the Vatican Gardens and St. Peter's Basilica. They also participated in a Mass presided over by the Archbishop of Genova. On Sunday, they prayed the Regina Coeli in St. Peter's Square.
