Pope Francis once again emphasized the irreplaceable female role in the Church, but this time during a private audience with participants of an international conference titled, “Women in the Church: Builders of humanity.”

Due to his ongoing health issues, Pope Francis' remarks were read by his aide. But the words he had prepared emphasized the unique capacity for love that women have, saying that in this time of war, “the female contribution is more indispensable than ever.”

The Pope's words also emphasized the suffering and injustice that many women around the world are facing.

MONS. PIERLUIGI GIROLI
There is a serious form of discrimination, which is precisely related to women's education. It is indeed feared in many contexts, but the way to better societies is through the education of girls and young women, from which human development benefits.

In closing the audience, the Pope stood to extend his blessing to those present.
